Here are your weekend’s events. The press release for the Good Time Kid Benefit – all proceeds of which go to Chris Schorb, an individual battling brain cancer – promises a performance from “4 Guys formerly on DFA about to drop their second album”. I wonder who those 4 guys could be?

Speaking of 4 guys, look out for the Standing Nudes to open for The Fiery Furnaces and Man Man at Webster Hall on Thu 6.29 – tickets available now. They have a girl actually, and 3 guys, but that all depends on your social conditioning. In less awesome news, the 6.27 Streets / Lady Sovereign show is sold out.

The MoCCA Art Fest is an indie comicon – a time to read and discover, a time to enjoy free birthday cake (Sat, 1pm), finally ask those New Yorker artists what the hell they’re laughing about (Sat, 2:10pm), and stalk heartthrob “graphic novelist” Adrian Tomine (Sun, 2:10pm). It’s $8 for 1 day and $10 for 2 – see their site for full schedule.

Still bored? Fuck you. But go to the Animals And More Animals series at Film Forum to watch two French films – one about animals romping about by the seaside, and one about animals dead, stuffed, and taxonomy-ed in the Parisian Museum of Natural History.
